This year’s National Apprenticeship Week has flown by! With such a jam-packed week of activities we’d like to share some of our highlights with you
We kicked off National Apprenticeship Week with a visit to Peterborough City Council during their Apprenticeship recruitment event, shortly followed by a visit to one of our most dedicated apprenticeship employers – NetSupport.
Throughout the remainder of the week Alpha Kindergarten, Ken Stimpson, Perkins, RHA, and our newest employer ImpraGas were all visited and presented with a certificate for their commitment and enthusiasm to supporting apprenticeships – as well as some yummy cupcakes!
Back to the Floor Campaign
Pat Carrington, Principle of City College Peterborough went ‘Back to the Floor’ with our apprentices at Royce Rolls. During her visit Pat got hands on by helping set up a large buffet at the Town Hall whilst hearing how the apprentices of Royce Rolls are getting on with their apprenticeship.
Tanya Meadows, Deputy Principle here at CCP also went ‘Back to the Floor’ with a visit to employer CDW. Meeting four of the Customer Service Apprentices, Tanya found out all about their job role and how their apprenticeship is helping them to learn new skills within the workplace (with their day to day duties).
Employers Breakfast & Recruitment Event
At the beginning of the week the college hosted two successful events, an Employers Breakfast and a Learners Recruitment Event.
The Employers Breakfast informed a group of local employers (went through )about how apprenticeships work and the benefits to organisations, information on the Levy and how to best utilise it, as well as a talk from one of our apprenticeship ambassadors on their apprenticeship journey and their progression pathway (on their take on the apprenticeship programme). In the afternoon our Apprenticeship Team set up in the Apprenticeship Hub at our Brook Street campus, meeting individuals interested in becoming an apprentice and giving advice and guidance on career options available.
