There was a real buzz in the College on Saturday 6th September when over 170 adults and children joined us for our 1940’s themed family event. Visitors took part in a wide range of free, fun activities including vintage crafts, hair and beauty 1940’s style, 1940’s baking, animal investigations, photos of the forties and antique valuations.Visitors also enjoyed the opportunity to see the Bygone Peterborough film show and take part in a presentation on The Battle of Britain. The 1940’s style picnic lunch was prepared and served by catering tutor, Paul George and his 9 year old son, Sonny. Everyone commented on the great food (“as good as any 5 star restaurant”) and, best of all, people of all ages had a great time and went away with a smile on their face.
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone for coming along and making our 1940’s event such a great success.
