Perhaps you’re in between jobs at the moment, or you’re looking to gain some new skills to get you back into the workplace? Either way, our employability training will help you gain the skills necessary to become a successful employee.

Our employability courses are free (subject to eligibility) as they are aimed at helping employers find candidates who are right for their jobs, whilst also boosting the local, current job market.

FOLLOWING CURRENT GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE AND THE NEED TO PROTECT THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF OUR LEARNERS AND STAFF WE HAVE INTRODUCED NEW METHODS OF COURSE DELIVERY. THIS INFORMATION IS INDICATED ON EACH COURSE IN OUR LISTINGS.

  • On-site Classroom (OS) All learners attend every lesson in one of our centres.
  • Blended Learning (BL) The group will be split in half. Learners will alternate between attending on-site and virtual classrooms.
  • Virtual Classroom (VC) All learners attend every class online.
  • Distance Learning (DL) Learning completed at home supported by some workshops where applicable.

NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Common Health Conditions (Blended Learning)

Start Date: Wednesday 28/04/2021
Time: 10:00-14:00
No of Weeks: 6
Fee: Free (Available to learners who are unemployed and receiving benefits.)

This course is for learners who are looking to start their career in health and social care, or are already working in the sector.

You will study 6 units: awareness of sensory loss, stroke awareness, understanding how to monitor health, awareness of dementia, awareness of arthritis and Parkinson’s disease awareness.

This course could lead to further education, such as the Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social care.

This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to work with children and young people.

You will study a number of units with this qualification, including: young children’s development, respecting and valuing children, importance of play for early learning and sharing learning experiences with children.

This course will develop your knowledge in caring for children, and allow you to go onto further study.

You will be required to complete 4 units to successfully achieve this qualification: understanding the business of retail, understanding customer service in the retail sector, understanding how individuals and teams contribute to the effectiveness of a retail business, understanding the retail selling process.

You could progress onto the Level 2 Certificate in Retail Operations, or into employment.

You may progress into an entry level position in health and social care, or study further courses related to health and social care.
