Overview of the Role

City College Peterborough is proud to be delivering the £5.2M Health and Care Sector Work Academy on behalf of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. As an Administrator, you will play a key role in the project’s success. You will be involved in the day to day organisation of the team’s activities and project arrangements. You will also be the first point of contact for participants and employers wanting to find out more about the project.

The successful candidate will join a small project team of dedicated hardworking and committed staff able to work flexibly within the working week and year.

Strong inter-personal skills are required for this post as the College and Service continues to expand quality provision and meet targets. The ability to work as part of a team and to be self-motivating is essential.

We are excited about this project and are seeking someone to join our team as we develop a new innovation in supporting people to develop careers in the Health and Care Sector.

Progress, Employment & Enterprise Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen to jo join our high performing Study Programme team.

The role will work with the Study Programme team to lead and coordinate the effective delivery of careers, enterprise education and progression opportunities. The ideal candidate will have prior experience of working with young people with Special Education Needs and a comprehensive knowledge of the barriers that young people face when trying to engage with work related activities.

An understanding of the local labour market is essential and an ability to network and create opportunities by working with local stakeholders and organisations will be vital to the success of the role.

The ideal candidates will have a commitment and passion to improving the confidence, skills, abilities and future opportunities of learners with Special Education Needs aged primarily between 16 and 25.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Establish effective working pathways that promote independence and access to appropriate employment opportunities
  • Provide an effective communication route between learners, wellbeing officers, tutors and department managers
  • To performance and line manage members of staff
  • Work as part of the management team to achieve timely results

Service Assistant

PCC Grade 5 £18,795 – £19,554 Pro-rata.

This post is 30 hrs per week

We are looking for an individual that has the energy and enthusiasm to work with adults with learning disabilities in Day Opportunities, based at Kingfisher Centre in Bretton to support individuals with complex needs including challenging behaviour to maximise their potential and independence skills. This post is not term time hours and will be over 5 days.

You will work to promote a person-centred approach of independence and empowerment of people using services.  You will assist with the planning, facilitating and evaluating in undertaking individual and/or group work with service users with the day service and/or community settings as determined by the care plans, including escort work to promote users’ confidence, independence, and acquisition of skills.

You must be prepared to deal with people who are often emotional and unpredictable in behaviour resulting in behaviours that challenge meaning you must be able to use negotiating skills to enable a person to fulfil their needs and be as independent as they can be according to their care plan and physical/mental health situation.  You will have an awareness of issues facing people with learning and/or physical disabilities.  You will have effective inter-personal skills such as negotiation, assertiveness and verbal communication.  You will have the ability to use initiative, prioritise, and liaise with a range of other professionals.  You will have the ability to work as part of a team and alone on base or in the community.  You will have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal confidently with a variety of situations.
