Driver/Support Worker

PCC Grade 5 -£19,312 – £20,092

37hrs per week – 52 weeks per year.

Permanent position working Mondays – Fridays, no evenings or weekends

The successful applicant will be entitled to 24 days year Annual Leave plus all Bank Holidays

We are looking for a Driver/Support worker with D1 driving licence to work in Day opportunities as part of our team at the Kingfisher Centre in Bretton, that has the enthusiasm and flexibility to support individuals with learning and physical disabilities and autism in a variety of settings to promote independence skills. This is a rewarding and satisfying role that would suit anyone looking for a new challenge.

You will be responsible for the safe transport of adults with disabilities to and from our service and support them in a range of sessions and community activities.

You will work alongside other team members to support individuals with all aspects of personal care, to ensure all individuals are able to maximise independence.

You will work to promote a person-centred approach of independence and empowerment of people using services.  You will work with supported people in order for them to achieve their full potential through goal-centred care plans, and proactive case monitoring.

You must be prepared to deal with people who are often emotional and unpredictable in behaviour and be able to use negotiating skills to enable a person to fulfil their needs and be as independent as they can be according to their care plans.  You will have an awareness of issues facing people with learning and/or physical disabilities and autism.  You will have effective inter-personal skills such as negotiation, assertiveness and verbal communication.  You will have the ability to use initiative, prioritise, and liaise with a range of other professionals.  You will have the ability to work as part of a team and alone on base or in the community.  You will have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal confidently with a variety of situations.

Part-Time Sessional Tutors in Counselling

PTLLS/CTLLS/DTLLS: £23,948.99 – £32,192.01

City College Peterborough is seeking talented, qualified, and experienced Counselling Level 3 tutor to take a creative lead in the planning, delivery, and quality of these programmes. The Tutor will require to teach face to face from September 2021 and be equipped to deliver online for remote sessions if required.

Applicants need to have the following credentials:

  • Hold a 420 hours therapeutic counselling qualification at level 4 or above (e.g. TCL4)
  • Be a member of a professional association of counselling or psychotherapy (i.e. BACP)
  • Be able to evidence CPD, a minimum of 30 hours and committed to continue professional development.
  • Current supervised counselling practice will a minimum of 6 months post-qualifying practice experience.
  • To hold a minimum of a Level 3 Award in Education and Training or be working towards this or another teaching qualification.
  • One year teaching/assessing experience at Level 2 or above.
  • Willingness to work with co-tutors and in the wider tutor team.
  • Available to attend termly / quarterly team meeting outside of teaching hours.
  • Passion and interest in developing students and the counselling profession.

Part-Time Sessional Esol Tutors to Adults based at our Brook Street Centre

AOC LEVEL 5 DTLLS: £27,758.14 – £32,192.01 pro-rata

City College Peterborough is seeking talented and experienced part-time ESOL tutors to contribute to the success of City College’s ESOL provision for adults aged over 19 and teach on a range of qualification and non-qualification courses predominantly at our main College site at Brook Street as well as a range of Covid-safe community venues.

As a minimum, applicants will have gained teaching experience in the UK or overseas and hold the Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert. TESOL qualification or another Level 5 equivalent qualification. Applicants will also have had experience of delivering teaching online and be familiar with at least one online teaching platform.

We have a great opportunity based at City College Peterborough for a Multi Skilled Tutor to become a key member of our Business and Enterprise department.

As a tutor in Business and Enterprise, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our learners.

This exciting role will involve you to plan and deliver Business and enrichment courses across a range of levels in an enthusiastic and inspiring manner, supporting learners achieve their full potential in a positive and engaging learning environment.  You need to be experienced, self-motivated and confident tutor to deliver high quality teaching and learning within our study programme provision, on a term time plus 2 weeks basis (18.5 hours per week).

The ability to plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to all students at city college Peterborough is paramount. All the staff are dedicated to education, training, skills and putting people first. People are at the heart of everything we do.

The job role will also include contributing to the continued development of the Department, providing tutorial support for learners, and carrying out the associated administrative tasks connected with the position.

Industry Motor Vehicle Technician

We have a great opportunity based at City College Peterborough for a Motor Vehicle Technician to become a key member of our Motor Vehicle Department. As a technician in Motor Vehicle, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our learners.

This exciting role will involve you supporting and work alongside the Motor Vehicle Tutor in an enthusiastic and inspiring manner, supporting learners to achieve their full potential in a positive and engaging learning environment. You will need to be experienced, self-motivated and a confident team player within our study program provision, on a full time (37 hours per week).

The ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and prepare workshops that will deliver high-quality lessons to all learners across City College Peterborough is paramount. We are looking for tutors who want to share their interests and skills by delivering high quality courses across a range of subject areas which may include arts and crafts; family learning; food; health and lifestyle; gardening; DIY;  ICT; photography and mental health and wellbeing, for example Classes are delivered through classroom based and  online or blended learning. If you can teach a subject not listed here, please get in touch anyway.

You can offer as much or as little time as you have available to fit in with your existing commitments and don’t worry if you don’t have teaching experience or a teaching qualification, we’ll be happy to support you.
