Management Accountant (Part Qualified)

The role is viewed as being key in enhancing the City Adult Learning Service and College’s responsiveness in meeting the needs of the adults, communities and key partners; and in achieving our corporate targets and quality standards.

Handyman/Caretaker/Site Officer

NJC Scale 6, Points 7 to 12: Salary £19,554 to £21,589 per annum, in addition to the salary, there is a shift allowance payment.

Working hours – 37 hours per week, year around post, on a shift system, with an element of weekend shift cover required, as per the team rota.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer focused Handyman/Caretaker/Site Officer, to assist with general building maintenance support at the

Brook Street Campus, and at the John Mansfield Campus on a rotating shift system, which includes early mornings and late evenings.  There is also a requirement to support our other centres based across the City with any additional general duties, and to support a variety of College events that are held off site. As a Site Officer, you will be nominated as the primary contact at one or more of our out centres.

You must be a ‘team player’ and have previous proven experience in a similar role and you will be able to complete a wide range of basic maintenance tasks. Confidence, knowledge and experience with a variety of power/hand tools is essential. You will also be required to undertake janitorial duties when required. You will be a designated key holder and be able to work unsupervised, therefore, good organisational and time management skills are paramount to this role. In the absence of the Facilities Manager, you will also be required to nominate work details to the caretaking team and cleaning staff. You will be able to place maintenance/stock orders using an online system (Training will be provided) and you will have the ability to communicate technical work requests to our nominated contractors.

The Facilities team support a wide range of general duties including, plant/heating systems adjustments/monitoring, classroom setups and general courier deliveries between centres, therefore a full, clean, UK driving licence is required to drive our transit van.

This role is key to supporting our learners and staff, therefore a positive, ‘can do’ attitude, and a good team working ethos plus a flexible approach to the wide variety of duties is an essential requirement of this role.

Learner Engagement and Career Advisor

Service Assistant

We are looking for an individual that has the energy and enthusiasm to work with adults with learning disabilities in Day Opportunities, based at Kingfisher Centre in Bretton to support individuals with complex needs including challenging behaviour to maximise their potential and independence skills. This post is not term time hours and will be over 5 days.

You will work to promote a person-centred approach of independence and empowerment of people using services.  You will assist with the planning, facilitating and evaluating in undertaking individual and/or group work with supported people within the day service and/or community settings as determined by the care plans, including escort work to promote users’ confidence, independence, and acquisition of skills.

You must be prepared to deal with people who are often emotional and unpredictable in behaviour resulting in behaviours that challenge meaning you must be able to use negotiating skills to enable a person to fulfil their needs and be as independent as they can be according to their care plan and physical/mental health situation. You will have an awareness of issues facing people with learning and/or physical disabilities. You will have effective inter-personal skills such as negotiation, assertiveness and verbal communication. You will have the ability to use initiative, prioritise, and liaise with a range of other professionals. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and alone on base or in the community. You will have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal confidently with a variety of situations.
