We are looking for a Driver/Support worker with D1 driving licence to work in Day opportunities as part of our team at the Kingfisher Centre in Bretton, that has the enthusiasm and flexibility to support individuals with learning and physical disabilities and autism in a variety of settings to promote independence skills. This is a rewarding and satisfying role that would suit anyone looking for a new challenge.

You will be responsible for the safe transport of adults with disabilities to and from our service and support them in a range of sessions and community activities.

You will work alongside other team members to support individuals with all aspects of personal care, to ensure all individuals are able to maximise independence.

You will work to promote a person-centred approach of independence and empowerment of people using services.  You will work with supported people in order for them to achieve their full potential through goal-centred care plans, and proactive case monitoring.

You must be prepared to deal with people who are often emotional and unpredictable in behaviour and be able to use negotiating skills to enable a person to fulfil their needs and be as independent as they can be according to their care plans.  You will have an awareness of issues facing people with learning and/or physical disabilities and autism.  You will have effective inter-personal skills such as negotiation, assertiveness and verbal communication.  You will have the ability to use initiative, prioritise, and liaise with a range of other professionals.  You will have the ability to work as part of a team and alone on base or in the community.  You will have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal confidently with a variety of situations.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic, customer-focused, target-driven and pro-active self-starter to work for City College on a new joint initiative with City Culture. We are looking for an experienced, proactive coordinator to work collaboratively with our teams on an exciting and dynamic project known as the Mini Vine. The Mini Vine is located in Peterborough City Centre.

In this role, you will oversee tasks delegated to you by the project manager, be part of the duty manager team, coordinate with all necessary stakeholders and service providers, and ensure that the project is moving forward on time and meeting the needs of the local community. You will need to be highly organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks while working independently. The ability to motivate others and keep them on task in a positive and encouraging manner is also a must-have skill in this position.

Multi-skilled Business and Enterprise Tutor 0.5 Role

We have a great opportunity based at City College Peterborough for a Multi Skilled Tutor to become a key member of our Business and Enterprise department.

As a tutor in Business and Enterprise, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our learners.

This exciting role will involve you to plan and deliver Business and enrichment courses across a range of levels in an enthusiastic and inspiring manner, supporting learners achieve their full potential in a positive and engaging learning environment.  You need to be experienced, self-motivated and confident tutor to deliver high quality teaching and learning within our study programme provision, on a term time plus 2 weeks basis (18.5 hours per week).

The ability to plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to all students at city college Peterborough is paramount. All the staff are dedicated to education, training, skills and putting people first. People are at the heart of everything we do.

The job role will also include contributing to the continued development of the Department, providing tutorial support for learners, and carrying out the associated administrative tasks connected with the position.

The successful candidate will need to be vocationally qualified to at least Level 3 in Business and be able to demonstrate in depth subject knowledge.

We are looking for individuals that have the energy and enthusiasm to work with adults with learning disabilities in Day Opportunities, based at Kingfisher Centre in Bretton to support individuals with complex needs including challenging behaviour to maximise their potential and independence skills. This post is not term time hours and will be working over 5 days.

Supporting individuals who access Day Opportunities that have a disability or long term health condition to secure sustainable employment, voluntary or work placement positions as well as supporting the development of Day Opportunities within the community.  This will include “in-work” support.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated to provide person-centred assistance to the individuals we support. Support individuals to interviews, inductions and appointments with employers, be able to recognise and signpost to alternative organization’s if required. Functional Skills Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Tutor 

Sessional Tutor

We have a great opportunity based at City College Peterborough for a sessional part time functional skills ICT tutor to become a key member of our Adult Skills department.

As a tutor in ICT, you will design lessons to support learners, from varying ages and abilities, to succeed with their ICT studies. You will stimulate your learners through functional and relevant learning to inspire them and support them to feel confident in their abilities. You will be an experienced, self-motivated, and confident tutor with the ability to adapt to suit your audience.

As part of your role as ICT tutor, you will contribute to the continued development of the department, you will need to support the administrator with initially assessing the learners prior to placement and carrying out the associated administrative tasks connected with the position. The successful candidate will need to be qualified in ICT to A level standard. We are looking for tutors who want to share their interests and skills by delivering high quality courses across a range of subject areas which may include arts and crafts; family learning; food; health and lifestyle; gardening; DIY;  ICT; photography and mental health and wellbeing, for example Classes are delivered through classroom based and  online or blended learning. You can offer as much or as little time as you have available to fit in with your existing commitments and don’t worry if you don’t have teaching experience or a teaching qualification, we’ll be happy to support you.

The current rate of pay from £19.98 per hour if you don’t have a teaching qualification.
