City College Peterborough is proud to announce its new social eating event ‘Super Kitchen’, which will be held from 5-7pm at City College Peterborough, Brook Street, Peterborough on Thursday 29th September 2016.

Super Kitchen, supported by Eudaimonia, a social enterprise charity has the aim of bringing the community together, particularly those who may struggle to feed their families because of hardship or low income or those who experience social isolation. Super Kitchen offers a well-balanced, nutritious meal at a very low or no cost.

The initiative will help to reduce food waste, help those who are affected by food poverty and encourage participation for training including learners with difficulties and disabilities or those less advantaged.

The social eating event shares tasty food that is donated from local supermarkets and local growers and will be showcasing surplus food for social good. The event is a chance for all students to gain practical skills and experience in food preparation and hygiene whilst volunteers who have learning difficulties and disabilities are given possible employment prospects and the opportunity and skills to work in a team.

Those that attend are invited to become part of the ‘Pay it Forward’ scheme where individuals can donate a meal for those less fortunate or be the recipient of a free meal should you need it.

If you would like to attend then please contact the meet and eat team on 01733 761361 or email eat@citycollegepeterborough.ac.uk.
