Hundreds of vacancies available for city’s job seekers
Jobseekers in Peterborough have a fantastic opportunity to apply for a wide range of jobs thanks to a forthcoming jobs fair.
The Department for Work and Pensions and Tackling Worklessness in Peterborough (TWIP) are hosting the ‘Recruit 2015’ jobs fairon Monday, September14, from 10am to 3pm at the Peterborough Town Hall.
With over 40 stands the event will include hundreds of vacancies from the retail, administration, care, customer service and warehousing sectors. Companies include The Army, Royal Navy Reserves, Cross Keys Care, Peterborough City Council,Allied Healthcare, Bupa, Manor Drive Solutions, Manpower, The One Group, Royal Mail, Serco, Home Instead Senior Care, Lifeways, Brilliant Group, The SES Group and Compass Group.
The event is being sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions and Cross Keys Homes, and is hoping to help many, including those on disability benefits and parents find work or training opportunities.
Job hunters will be able to meet local employers on the day, find out what support and training opportunities are available in the city as well as browse real jobs quickly and conveniently. Attendees are therefore strongly encouraged to bring their CVs and dress smart. Work Coaches from Jobcentre Plus will also be available throughout the event to provide support to them in order to help them successfully find work.
Jane Cameron, Employer Engagement Manager at Peterborough Jobcentre said: “Following the resounding success of previous jobs fairs for employers and jobseekers alike, we again have a great selection of full time, part time, temporary and permanent positions on offer. Our commitment to working with local employers is greater than ever with a view to helping people back into work.
“We therefore hope that many people who are looking for work will come along to see what real opportunities are available in Peterborough and make the most of what promises to be a great one-stop careers fair covering all job hunters’ needs and aspirations.”
Tackling Worklessness in Peterborough (TWIP) is a local group which incorporates Jobcentreplus, Peterborough Regional College, City College Peterborough, Peterborough City Council, Peterborough Workspace and Opportunity Peterborough as well as many other local companies and organisations who meet regularly to look at how they can tackle worklessness in the city and is led by Cross Keys Homes housing association.
The group is committed to making a difference and offer a wide range of courses, one-to-one sessions, support and training options via their website which is one of the main portals for those searching for employment to access all the options available to them.
