A culture of high performance maintained as City College Peterborough celebrates impressive Ofsted rating

‘A culture of high expectations’ is how Ofsted described CCP in its letter to the Principal, following its recent short inspection, which has seen the college awarded the status of ‘The provider continues to be good’
The short inspection report goes on to say that the college has ‘highly effective employer engagement and recognises that Apprenticeship provision has grown significantly over the past few years with success rates well above national rates’. It mentions that the College continues to broaden and diversify its work which reflects well in the colleges objectives of advancing education, skills and health, relieving poverty and tackling poverty.
Pat Carrington, Principal of City College Peterborough comments: “I am delighted with the report and I am really pleased that Ofsted have recognised the work our Governors do and how strong our strategic leadership is, especially around our ambitious long term plans, and how our decision making is premised accurately on learners and community need.”
Ofsted go on to recognise the good work done with community partners and also that adult learners studying work related qualifications have high success rates.
Cllr. John Holdich, Leader of Peterborough City Council and Cabinet member for Education, Skills and the University and Communications, comments: “This report is a true testament to the dedication and hard work of the staff at the College and it is good to see that Ofsted have recognised the strengths and skills of the teaching staff”.
