City College revisits Peterborough Cathedral to host its Celebration of Learning

City College Peterborough held its annual Celebration of Learning event at Peterborough Cathedral for the second year running on Thursday 19th October 2017 with over 300 people attending to celebrate their achievements throughout the year.

All students who completed their course within the last academic year were invited to celebrate their own achievements and the achievements of others during the evening. Special guest speakers on the night included Councillor John Holdich, Leader of Peterborough City Council and Deputy Mayor of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and James Palmer, Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority who presented the certificates to the students.

Pat Carrington, Principal of City College Peterborough opened the event and spoke about City College Peterborough and its own achievements and developments, including launching the new College film. Pat announced the special awards for students and staff who have gone above and beyond throughout the year in their category. These included Adult Learner of the Year, Young Learner of the Year, Employee of the Year and Apprentice of the Year.

City College Peterborough will be looking at hosting its next Celebration of Learning event next year in October.
