Our craft courses offer a varied mix of new skills – including creative basket making; papercraft, flower arranging, dying your own fabrics and threads and fabric screen printing.  Some are run over several weeks while others are one-off Saturday courses designed to fit in with busy lifestyles to learn specific techniques.

Printmaking Techniques for Home, Art & Fashion

This course examines two print techniques per term with tutor led project themes and personalised outcomes printed on paper or fabric. A visual journey sketchbook is also created by learners on this course. Print techniques used throughout the year include mono-printing, collograph, lino cut, etching and heat press transfer for fabric. Final outcomes can be applied to soft furnishings, framed pieces or clothing.
This course is suitable for a range of abilities, though previous print experience is an advantage.

Pottery and Sculpture Design

This course combines tuition in basic techniques for beginners with more challenging projects for students with experience.
You will learn about:

  • slabbing
  • coiling
  • thumb pots
  • sculptural techniques
  • mould making and throwing.

Selling Your Craft Items Using Photography

Learn to photograph your craft items in their best light. This course will show you how to photograph items of craft or art to enable you to sell them online or in magazines.

Printmaking Fabric 

Using heat transfer inks and a hot heated press, learners can design and print their own fabrics using stenciling, painting and organic resist. These fabrics could be then used for clothing, soft furnishings or accessories.

Peterborough Pottery Throw Down 

This course provides tuition in throwing on the wheel as well as methods of coil, slab and hand buildings construction.
