Financial Controller

Salary circa £45,000 plus comprehensive benefits package

As the Head of Finance reporting directly to Principal this critical strategic role supports the wider business by ensuring timely delivery of strong financial reporting.

Working with the Principal and Vice Principals the Financial Controller will have a critical role in supporting in the overall responsibility for the leadership and development of the College, with strategic leadership responsibility for the departments, staff and budgets within their business support areas of Finance and Facilities.

Applicants must have a detailed knowledge of financial and budgetary management and control, a sound knowledge of financial standards and be familiar with funding bodies and reporting requirements for education and training. Experience of management at a senior level is essential, along with high level experience of managing accounting and management information systems. The successful candidate will be degree educated and CABA qualified or able to evidence experience to this level. A strategic forward thinker, with a positive “can do”, “will do” approach, together with the ability to lead and motivate others is essential.

We are offering the successful candidate a competitive salary of circa £45,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package, along with the opportunity to join an organisation at a very exciting time and to make the role their own.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing additional classroom support to learners and will have experience of working with learners with a wide range of different learning support needs

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Establish effective working relationships with learner/s
  • To provide personal care for a male learner
  • Undertake the role of Teaching Assistant inside and outside of the classroom in order to provide high quality support, learner/s on study programmes
  • Be pro-active and effecting is providing all aspects of learning support
  • Work effectively with tutors to ensure the level of challenge is appropriate for the learner/s

NB All positions are working with 16-24 year old Learners

Maths and English Tutors

Non Qualified Teaching rate for trainee teachers £20,701.17 – £21,961.51

As a result of the Government’s agenda to support the ‘up skilling’ of Maths and English as a priority area for young people and Adults, we are excited about the prospect of recruiting more Maths and English experts to join our dedicated team.

Whilst we continue to welcome applications from experienced teaching professionals, teaching experience is not essential. We will be delighted to support the professional development of individuals who are passionate about the value of literacy and numeracy skills; have excellent subject knowledge, with a desire to join the education profession. The range of opportunities include:

  • Full Time and Term Time only contracts
  • Sessional part time courses (variable hours depending on availability)
  • Qualification courses (Functional Skills, Themed awards and GCSEs)

The ideal candidates will have a commitment to improving the confidence, skills and abilities of learners. They will be passionate about education and have proven subject knowledge, previous delivery of iGCSE or GCSE would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Establish effective working relationships with learners
  • Engage learners through providing innovative and stimulating lessons
  • Assess, monitor, support and record learner progress
  • Work as part of a team to achieve timely results
