Community Meet & Eat Co-ordinator

PART-TIME (3 DAYS A WEEK) FIXED TERM POST FOR ONE YEAR

Meet and Eat social dining events in the community bring people together to share food and conversation and aim to improve inclusion, relieve loneliness and promote health, wellbeing and learning and employment opportunities to participants.

We are seeking an enthusiastic self-starter who has excellent people skills to work with partners to set up and run community Meet and Eat social dining events within the community. The Co-ordinator will recruit and train a team of community volunteers to be able to take over the running of the Meet and Eat events within their own communities to enable them to become self-sustaining.

Health and Care Sector Work Academy Mentor

NJC Scale 6 SCP £18,870 – £21,074

37 hours per week – Permanent

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

City College Peterborough is proud to be delivering the £5.2M Health and Care Sector Work Academy on behalf of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. As a Mentor you will play a key role in the project’s success. You will meet, screen and enrol participants and offer support during and after their training to help them to find work. You will also support some of the courses to assist participants with getting ready and applying for work.

The successful candidate will join a small project team of dedicated hardworking and committed staff able to work flexibly within the working week and year.

Strong inter-personal skills are required for this post as the College and Service continues to expand quality provision and meet targets. The ability to work as part of a team and to be self-motivating is essential.

We are excited about this project and are seeking someone to join our team as we develop a new innovation in supporting people to develop careers in the Health and Care Sector.

This is an important post playing a key part in the continuing success, development and expansion of adult learning across the City and beyond.

He or she will possess the ability to interact with people at all levels and abilities.  A forward thinker, with a positive “can do”, “will do” approach, together with the ability to work with, and motivate others is essential.

As a result of the Government’s agenda to support the ‘up skilling’ of Maths and English as a priority area for young people and Adults, we are excited about the prospect of recruiting more Maths and English experts to join our dedicated team.

Whilst we continue to welcome applications from experienced teaching professionals, teaching experience is not essential. We will be delighted to support the professional development of individuals who are passionate about the value of literacy and numeracy skills; have excellent subject knowledge, with a desire to join the education profession. The range of opportunities include:

Full Time and Term Time only contracts

Sessional part time courses (variable hours depending on availability)

Qualification courses (Functional Skills, Themed awards and GCSEs)

The ideal candidates will have a commitment to improving the confidence, skills and abilities of learners. They will be passionate about education and have proven subject knowledge, previous delivery of iGCSE or GCSE would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be required to:

Establish effective working relationships with learners

Engage learners through providing innovative and stimulating lessons

Assess, monitor, support and record learner progress

Work as part of a team to achieve timely results
